Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for professional services for Lead Copper Rule Revision inventory requirements.

Summary:
The Lead and Copper Rule was revised in 2020. The change requires that all service lines be inventoried and classified as lead, galvanized downstream of lead, not lead, and unknown by October 16, 2024. To accomplish this, staff received a quote in the amount of $39,500.00 from Blueconduit to provide statistical modeling to classify the lines. Funding for these services were not budgeted in Fiscal Year 2024, therefore a budget amendment is necessary for to appropriate adequate funding and complete the project by the October 16th deadline.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $39,500.00 to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for the Water and Sewer Maintenance Department (Account No. 400-501-42400, Consultant Fee) to be funded from the prior year revenue (fund reserves) in the Water & Sewer Fund, which is available for this purpose.
