Title

Consideration of and action on a resolution designating the use of assigned fund balance of the General Fund to place an order for a Chevy 4500 Chassis and Patient Compartment for the Emergency Medical Services Department.

Body

Summary:

The Fire Department submitted a request to purchase a new 4500 Chevrolet Chassis and Patient Compartment as part of the City’s FY 2024-2025 Budget process. The new 4500 Chevrolet Chassis and Patient Compartment will replace a 2017 Ford F350 with 105,000 miles. Due to supply chain challenges, delivery is expected in 24 months after the order is placed.

The City did not budget funds in the FY 2022-2023 or 2024-2025 Budget, since the equipment will not be delivered and paid for approximately 24 months. However, the City must have funds available when an order is placed for this equipment.

Funds have been identified as being available in the Fund Balance of the City’s General Fund in order to allow an order to be placed for this equipment.

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:

$341,000.00 of the Fund Balance of the General Fund be assigned for the placement of an order for a 2025 4500 Chevrolet Chassis and Patient Compartment.

Recommended action

It is recommended that City Council designate $341,000.00 of the Fund Balance of the General Fund to be assigned for the placement of an order for a 2025 4500 Chevrolet Chassis and Patient Compartment.
