Title
Acceptance of the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 FCPEMSD Budget submitted by the Deer Park Fire Department.

Body
Summary:
The Deer Park Fire Department has prepared a proposed budget for the Fire Control, Prevention and EMS District (FCPEMSD) for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Under a separate agenda item, the Board will be asked to schedule a public hearing on the proposed budget on June 10, 2024 at 5:45 PM.

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Revenues: the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget includes total revenues of $2,181,715. Sales tax revenues of $1,850,000 represent an 8% decrease from the current budget and is approximately 27% less than the revenue received in the most recently completed fiscal year 2022-2023. The estimate for the current fiscal year is 8% less than the prior fiscal year. These estimates are based on decreasing sales tax trends due to the decline in inflation. The revenues projected in the budget are reflective of the collections the District received, with a slight increase, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic when inflation was stable. To balance the proposed 2024-2025 budget, an additional $321,715 from prior year revenue is needed to fund operations and capital expenditures.
Expenditures: the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budget includes total expenditures of $2,181,715, which represents $535,500 for Fire Services, $1,445,917 for Emergency Medical Services, and $160,298 for the Fire Marshal. This amount includes $2,024,115 of operating expenditures and $157,600 of capital outlay. Capital expenditures include $157,600 for the annual lease payments for the Pierce 107' Ladder Truck, which will be paid off in 2025.
This proposal represents a balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Capital items not included in this budget will be evaluated with other requested items for consideration of the General Fund. This is not the final budget document, since additional information may become available prior to the vote by the Board of Direct...
