Consideration of and action on a recommendation to City Council to amend the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Crime Control and Prevention District budget for the purchase a Chevy Equinox from Parkway Chevrolet.

Summary:
The Police Department is requesting to purchase a black 2025 Chevy Equinox from Parkway Chevrolet through Buyboard contract 698-23 for $28,907.00. This vehicle is being purchased to replace the wrecked Chevy Impala. The City’s insurance provider has deemed the Chevy Impala a total loss; therefore, a replacement vehicle is necessary. The District is expected to receive an insurance reimbursement in the amount of $8,200.00. Because the need to purchase a replacement vehicle was unforeseen, it is necessary to amend the Crime Control Prevention District budget $29,000.00 to allocate funding.
This additional appropriation would be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the Crime Control and Prevention District.
On February 4th, action is to be taken at the regular City Council meeting regarding the ordinance to amendment the budget.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $29,000.00 to the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget for the Police Department (Account No. 820-300- 49060, Automobiles) to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the Crime Control and Prevention District, which is available for this purpose.

Approve the recommendation to City Council to amend the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Crime Control and Prevention District budget for the Police Department.
