Title
Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District budget for election costs.
Body
Summary:
The Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District is set to expire in year 2026. In order to renew the District, it is necessary to hold an election. City Council and the Board of Directors for the Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District have agreed to hold an election to renew the District in year 2025 rather than wait for the expiration year of 2026. The estimated cost to hold the election is $12,000.00, which shall be evenly split between the Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District and the Crime Control Prevention District, which is also up for renewal. The cost to hold the election was not budgeted for; therefore, it is necessary to amend the Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District’s budget for fiscal year Fiscal Year 2024-2025 to include an additional $6,000.00.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $6,000.00 to the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget for the Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District (Account No. 830-311-43460, Election Supplies) to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the District, which is available for this purpose.
Recommended action
Approve the ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District budget for election costs.
