Body
Summary:
Mayor and Council Positions One, Two and Three are elected in odd numbered years. In accordance with the City's Charter and State law, an election must be ordered between the 78th and 103rd day before Election Day (May 3, 2025). Due to the Community Center construction project, Election Day will be held at City Hall in the Council Chambers and early voting will be conducted, as normal, in the City Secretary's office suite.
This year, early voting will only be six days long instead of seven days. This is due to Monday, April 21st being San Jacinto Day which is a holiday that is recognized in the Election Code so therefore early voting will start on Tuesday, April 22nd and end on Tuesday, April 29th.
The two days that will be 12 hour voting days will be Tuesday, April 22nd and Wednesday, April 23rd.
If there are no opponents for the positions open, then the general election will be cancelled however the special election for sales tax district renewal for Fire & Crime will still occur.
Our new voting equipment will be used in this election for the first time.
