Consideration of and action on a joint election agreement with the City of Deer Park and the Deer Park Fire Control Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District (FCPEMSD) and the Deer Park Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) for district renewals to be held on May 3, 2025.

Summary: 

The Council will consider approving a joint Election Services Agreement with the FCPEMSD and CCPD for each District’s continuation election to be held on May 3, 2025.  The Board of Directors of each District approved this Election Services Agreement at their respective meetings on February 3, 2025.   The election will be for a renewal of the districts for a 20-year term.  The City will run the district elections concurrently with the City’s General Election held on the same date.

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

Funds were budgeted in the FY 2024-2025 budget for each District for shared publication expenses as they approved a budget amendment at their Jan 27, 2025 meetings.  Election expenses will be budgeted through another amendment.

Recommended action

Approve the joint election agreement between the City of Deer Park and FCPEMSD and CCPD for the districts renewal election to be held on May 3, 2025.
