Summary:
Section 205(C) (2) of the City Charter states the City Council, "Shall, upon recommendation of the manager, appoint the city secretary, deputy city secretary, and all other department directors." With Bill Philibert’s retirement as Human Resources & Risk Management Director, his position was posted and the final three candidates were interviewed by several groups recently. An executive session with City Council also occurred to discuss this appointment.
The City Manager’s Office has offered the Human Resources & Risk Management Director position to Ms. Sandra Cuellar-Wilson and she has accepted it. This appointment is now being submitted for Council confirmation. Confirmation ordinance is attached.
