In addition, to purchase, we ask for consideration and action on approving a purchase order to outfit with necessary police equipment five (5) Chevrolet Police Tahoes by Parkway Chevrolet.

Summary:
The Deer Park Police Department is requesting the issuance of a Purchase Order to the vendor, Parkway Chevrolet, to purchase three (3) 2024 Chevrolet Police Tahoes and one (1) 2024 Chevrolet Malibu. They will be purchased under Sheriffs Association of Texas Buy Board, from Parkway Chevrolet (contract #698-23, 724-23). The Chevrolet Police Tahoes will be built out as marked police cars and the Chevrolet Malibu will be assigned to Criminal Investigations.
In addition to the purchase of the three (3) Chevrolet Police Tahoes, Parkway Chevrolet will outfit these three (3) Tahoes as well as two (2) Chevrolet Police Tahoes that were acquired at the end of fiscal 23/24 budget year and were not originally expected to arrive until after October 1, 2024. We acquired them on September 30, 2024.

Cost per vehicle - $51,030.14 x 3 = $153,090.42
Buy Board Fee - $350.00
Total cost = $153,440.42
Original budgeted amount, per vehicle - $56,469.78 x 3 = $169,409.36
Cost per vehicle to upfit, including w/Plastix Plus Equipment - $20,853.20 x 5 = 104,266.00
Original budgeted amount to upfit, including w/Plastix Plus Equipment for five (5) Police Tahoes - $115,728
Total Police Tahoe cost: $257,706.42
Total Budgeted for Tahoe Cost: $285,137.34
Chevrolet Malibu Breakdown cost - $26,277.00 - originally budgeted at $29,150.00

The Deer Park Police Department is requesting permission to issue a purchase order and pay the vendor, Parkway Chevrolet, Tomball, Texas, for three (3) Chevrolet Police Tahoes, one (1) Chevrolet Malibu and to upfit five (5) Police Tahoes with police equipment at a grand total of $283,983.42. Product pricing quote is attached for the cost, per vehicle.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Total cost to purchase three (3) Chevrolet Police Tahoes: $153,440.42 from the CCPD budget.
Total cost to upfit five (5) Chevrolet Police Tahoes: $104,266.00 from CCPD budget.
Total cost to purchase one (1) Chevrolet Malibu: $26,277.00 from CCPD budget.
We expect to be under our budgeted amount by $30,303.92 for the total costs of the Chevrolet Police Tahoes, Chevrolet Malibu and having five (5) Police Tahoes upfitted w/Plastix Plus Equipment.
Recommended Action
Recommend City Council approve the purchase of three (3) 2024 Chevrolet Police Tahoes and one (1) Chevrolet Malibu, from Parkway Chevrolet, Tomball, Texas, via the Sheriff’s Association of Texas Procurement Program (contract #698-23, 724-23). Further recommend City Council approve a purchase order to outfit with necessary police equipment (5) Chevrolet Police Tahoes by Parkway Chevrolet.
