Body

Summary:

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) delineates responsibilities and procedures for Texas Emergency Management Assistance Teams (TEMAT) activities under the authority of Texas Government Code Chapter 418, Sub chapter E-1 Texas Statewide Mutual Aid System, and the State of Texas Emergency Management Plan.

Following Hurricane Harvey and recommendation from the “Eye of the Storm” report, the Disaster Recovery Task Force (DRTF) was developed through House Bill 6 from the 86th Legislative Session.  It was created to assist jurisdictions that have been impacted by an emergency or disaster, to recover more efficiently by starting the recovery process early in the response phase.  Task Force members assist in training, development of procedures, dissemination of the most current recovery information and respond to support local jurisdictions during an event/incident.
