Discussion of issues related to the 2026 Library Strategic Plan.

Summary:
Each public library in Texas must have a strategic plan that is approved by its governing authority and reviewed and updated at least every five years in order to achieve and retain accreditation in the state library system. The last strategic plan for the library was adopted in 2021 spanning October 2021 through September 2026. At their meeting on August 25, 2026, the Library Board approved recommending to City Council that the 2026 Library Strategic Plan be formally adopted.
Library Director, Rebecca Pool, will be discussing the proposed Library Strategic Plan for 2026 through 2029.
There will be an action item for approval at the regular City Council Meeting on September 15, 2026.
