Consideration of and action on purchasing a dump truck for the Street Maintenance Division via HGAC-Buy Contract #HT06-20.

Summary: 

The Street Maintenance Division was approved to purchase a new dump truck this fiscal year.  The existing dump truck, Unit 227, is a 1994 Freightliner model with an 8-yard dump bed.  The new truck will be a 2026 Freightliner with a 14-yard capacity dump bed, which is more reliable and more efficient for carrying large loads. The new unit will provide several years of service for the Public Works Dept. 

We were approved $175,000 for this purchase; the quoted price is $172,272.00.  The purchase is being made through Houston Freightliner via their HGAC-Buy contract #HT06-20.

 

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

$175,000 is budgeted in the Asset Replacement Fund account 091-403-4907.
