Acceptance and completion of the 2020 Waterline Rehabilitation Project.

Summary:
Council approved this project at the March 3, 2020 meeting. The project consisted of pipe bursting 5,600 Linear Feet of various water lines across town ranging from 6” to 12” in diameter. These waterlines were in a degraded condition and either needed to be rehabilitated due to severe leaks or needed to be upsized for better pressure for the area they serve. This project was part of our ongoing mission to rehabilitate the City’s water system to reduce water loss, maintain optimal water pressure, and superb water quality.
The services of SKE Construction LLC through the Buy Board totaling $672,883.79. Due to unforeseen conflicts at the intersections of Luella/Pasadena Blvd. and Luella/13th St. there was overages on the project for additional 12” pipe, fittings, and concrete paving. The total for the overages is shown in a balancing change order in the amount of $77,169.25. The project’s total cost is $750,053.04. The project has been completed and is ready for Council acceptance.

This project was funded out of the Series 2018 Water / Sewer Certificates of Obligation
Recommended action
Staff is recommending that council accept completion of the project.
