Title

Proclamation for National Library Week 2025.

Body

Summary:

National Library Week will be celebrated April 6-12, 2025.  First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries (school, public, academic and special) participate.  The theme for National Library Week (April 6-12, 2025), “Drawn to the Library!” illustrates the fact that libraries give us a green light to experience something truly special: a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and pursue our passions through book clubs, storytimes, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures, and more. Libraries also play a pivotal role in economic development by providing resources and support for job seekers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

Rebecca Pool, Library Director, will be present at the April 1, 2025 Council Meeting to accept the 2025 National Library Week Proclamation.
