Consideration of and action on a change order no. 1 for the Surface Water Treatment Plant Clearwell Transfer Pump, Ground Storage Tank (GST), and Disinfection Improvements Project.

Summary: The construction work at the Surface Water Treatment Plant was awarded to CSA Constructors in the amount of $6,185,290.00. This project is the construction of a new clear well, transfer pumps, installation of baffles in the Ground Storage tanks and interior coating of the tanks, and a new disinfection system.
The change order in the amount of $309,000.00 is for coating the exterior of the Ground Storage Tanks. During construction and coating of the inside of the tanks it was discovered that several areas would need exterior touch up. This would leave the tanks looking incomplete with old and new paint areas. Staff asked for a cost from the contractor to coat the complete exterior of both Tanks. Normally Tanks are painted every 15 years, it currently has been 11 years since these tanks were coated.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This will be paid out of the Certificate of Obligations funds budgeted for the Surface Water Treatment Plant Improvements.
