Consideration of and action on purchasing the services of Du-West Construction, Inc. for the 2026 Sidewalk Improvements via TIPS contract #26010402.

Summary: 

The City has budgeted $375,000 for the 2026 Sidewalk Improvement Project. Rather than advertising for bids, as we would typically do, we have chosen to go with the option of Job Order Contracting with Du-West Construction, Inc., through their TIPS contract #26010402. 

This is similar to the On-Call Water/Sewer Maintenance Agreement and On-Call Concrete Maintenance agreements we have had with SKE Construction in the past.  The 2026 Sidewalk Improvement Project would be between the City and Du-West Construction in the amount of $375,000.  The initial work order we have provided them covers numerous areas around town in which new concrete will be installed, damaged concrete will be removed and replaced with new, wider, sidewalks as well as installation of new ramps.  The initial work order cost is $203,503.00.  Once that work has been completed, if there is still time remaining in the fiscal year, we will issue another work order request for additional improvements. 

 

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: 

A total of $375,000 is budgeted for this project.
