Body
Summary:
The Wastewater Treatment Plant has $1-million in the current budget for improvements at the plant. The main focus for these improvements is to the Motor Control Center (MCC) facility. The MCC facility is basically the central nervous system of the wastewater treatment plant. It is meant to be a dedicated, environmentally controlled, room that houses the heavy-duty electrical panels required to safely power, protect and automate the plants extensive network of motors, blowers, pumps and mixers. The MCC facility consolidates all the controls for this machinery into one organized, centralized space.
The electrical panels and equipment within the MCC are original to the plant, well over 30-years old, and in need of replacement. The proposed upgrades include replacing breakers, blower starters, electrical panels, transformer, receptacles and other electrical upgrades for a cost of $371,560.00.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funds for the MCC facility improvements are budgeted in the Wastewater Treatment Plant’s operational budget (account 400-502-49030). This purchase will be made through Choice Partner’s contract #23/039MR-07.
