Summary:
The citywide rehabilitation of manholes has been approved as part of the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan. This first year, $750,000 has been allocated out of the Series 2026 Certificates of Obligation for this purpose. We are requesting to purchase the services of Fuquay, Inc., through their Buy Board contract #731-24, to rehabilitate 113 manholes. The proposed cost for rehabilitating the 113 manholes is $749,665.35.
Rehabilitation of manholes is a effective approach to immediately reduce infiltration and avoid costly full replacement of the manhole.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funding is through 2026 Certificates of Obligation.
