Chairman Cothran called for those in favor of this request.
Mario Perez, the applicant and property owner, appeared with his daughter, who translated his remarks. Mr. Perez stated that the storage building and an addition to it had been constructed behind the house without a permit. He requested that the Board approve the variance for the structures as built.
Building Official Greg Melching stated that staff had not been informed that the structures were already built. Staff visited the property, but no one answered the door.
Chairman Cothran requested that staff investigate the matter further and bring it back to the Board at a future meeting.
Chairman Cothran called for those against this request.
Jimmy Garza, 1938 Estate Drive, spoke in opposition to the variance request and expressed concerns regarding the homeowner building without a permit.
Chairman Cothran closed the public hearing at 6:46 p.m.
