Summary:
An emergency repair was made to replace 480 feet of 8” pipe at the intersection of Center Street and Forest Street. The original repair cost was $84,621.15. However, it was necessary to issue a change order in the amount of $11,950.00 making the total repair cost $96,571.15. The additional cost is due to a valve that could not be isolated which required a bypass, an extra 6-inch and 8-inch wet connection and a 6-inch insertion valve. The work has now been completed and we are ready for Council to accept completion and approve releasing retainage.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funding for this project was covered Certificates of Obligation bonds funds (fund 511).
Recommended action
Accept completion of the Center Street Waterline Improvement and approve releasing retainage.
