Summary:
On Monday, September 9, 2024, the City received one (1) bid for the sale of surplus water meters. The old meters are made with brass bodies and therefore have salvageable value. The bidders were required to submit a bid providing a total dollar amount to purchase all 12,000+ water meters, provide containers for storage at the Luella Complex, and haul the meters from the site periodically as the project progresses.
Nationwide Surplus, located in Conroe, submitted a total bid of $68,750.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Proceeds from the sale of surplus water meters will be recorded as revenue in the Water Sewer Fund.
