Summary:
Performance Services, Inc. has completed the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Project, which included:
- An investment grade audit (IGA);
- 12,212 meter swap-outs/installs; AND
- 246 line relocates.
The project is completed and the contract is ready to be closed out and final payment issued. A copy of the completion certificate is included.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Services for this project were funded by American Rescue Plan Act funds from the U.S. Department of Treasury awarded to the City of Deer Park and received in August 2021 and September 2022, respectively, totaling $8,310,779.19. In accordance with the grant funding, all funds had to be appropriated by December 31, 2024 and expensed by December 31, 2026.
In May 2024, it was discovered the total cost of the project exceeded our available ARPA funds by $1,653,209.80. At the May 7, 2024 regular City Council meeting, a budget amendment was approved in the amount of $1,700,000.00 in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for the Water and Sewer Maintenance Department (Account No. 400-501-49030, Improvements) to fund the project overage from the prior year revenue (fund reserves) which was available and allocated for this purpose.
