Summary:
The Wastewater Treatment Plant has budgeted funding for hiring a consultant as part of the addition of a filtration treatment unit to remove total suspended solids at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This treatment process will enhance ultraviolet disinfection and reduce the discharge of fecal coliform. This is a tertiary treatment process that will follow secondary and primary treatment and will improve our TCEQ compliance.
This request is to enter into an agreement for the preliminary study. Public Works is requesting approval to enter into an agreement with Ardurra engineering for evaluation study of the filtration treatment unit at a proposed cost of $164,905.00. Ardurra Group Inc. is on our approved pre-qualified professional service firms.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
A total of $50,000.00 was budgeted to hire a consultant for this project. There are savings on other budgeted items within the division’s budget to cover the remaining $114,905.00 for a total cost of $164,905.00.

Approve entering into an agreement with Ardurra to perform an evaluation study for the filtration treatment unit.
