Summary:
The 2-inch waterline main on Phyllis Street broke 4 times in a week. Repairs were made each time the mainline broke, however it is just a matter of time before it breaks again. The Water & Sewer Maintenance Supervisor recommends that we replace 350-linear feet of 2-inch cast-iron waterline with 4-inch HDPE pipe.
SKE Construction is a Buy Board vendor (#660-21) and has provided a quote of $52,007.62 for this waterline replacement.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This is not a budgeted waterline replacement, however we have remaining funds in the Series 2018 C/O, water/sewer bond funds (Fund 511). A portion of these remaining funds were recently used for the waterline replacement on Boston and Center Street and we are proposing to use this same fund for the $52,007.62 to replace the waterline on Phyllis.
Recommended action
Approve the purchase of service from SKE Construction for the waterline replacement.
