Summary:
Sodium Orthophosphate is the corrosion inhibitor used in the water system to create scaling on the pipes and prevent the leaching of metals into the water. The water system recently moved to sodium orthophosphate as a result of the Lead and Copper Rule Revision.
On Monday, March 9 we opened six (6) bids for Sodium Orthophosphate. Below is the submitted bidders:

The bid calculation reviewed the cost to treat 1 million gallons of water, calculated to the right of the total bid. This takes into account the different amounts of active phosphate in the product the companies proposed and allows for an even comparison between the bids.

This chemical is included in the budget 400-503-43160.
Recommended action:
Accept the bid from ChemRite for the Sodium Orthophosphate supplier from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027 with the option to renew up to one additional year.
