Title
Discussion of issues relating to the potential establishment of an ordinance to prohibit fishing at the Battleground Golf Course.
Body
Summary:
The Battleground Golf Course currently has several ponds running throughout its property. These ponds serve as a place for the City of Deer Park to recycle its gray water and utilize it to irrigate the Battleground Golf Course.
Over the years, these ponds have become populated by fish. While those fish are an important part of the ecosystem; they have also attracted citizens from the community to come and fish in those ponds. While the Battleground Golf Course operations attempt to prohibit fishing, this has not deterred those from fishing the waters. However, in recent months, fishing in the Battleground ponds has become an ongoing safety issue.
Discussion is to determine direction on the potential establishment of an ordinance to prohibit fishing at the Battleground Golf Course.
