Summary:
On May 2, 2023 City Council approved awarding the project for the new Fire Station No. 2 and Fire Training Facility to Comex Corporation. The project was awarded in the amount of $11,117,000.00. There was a net change order amount for additional $246,338.73 making the total construction cost $11,363,38.75.
Substantial Completion of the project, took place in May 2025, however there were still a few punch list items that needed to be completed prior to accepting completion and releasing retainage. All items have now been completed, and we are now asking that City Council accept completion of this project and approve releasing $566,098.04 currently held in retainage.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This project was funded out of the Series 2021 General Obligation Bond proceeds which are located in Fund 309.
Recommended action
Accept completion of the new Fire Station No. 2 and Fire Training Facility and approve the release of retainage.
