Title
Consideration of and action on the acceptance of completion of the Deer Park Terrace Street Reconstruction Project and approving the release of retainage funds currently held.
Body
Summary:
On February 1, 2021 the City entered into a professional service contract with Schaumberg and Polk, Inc. (SPI) for the design of streets, drainage and utilities in the Deer Park Terrace Subdivision which include Linda, Robin, Irene, Maxie and west 3rd Street. The streets within the project limits were relatively flat with little to no underground internal drainage. SPI was tasked with designing the streets to drain the subdivision while navigating through existing underground utilities and around numerous trees adjacent to and encroaching onto the existing roadway surface.
On September 3, 2024 the project was awarded to Environmental Allies, LLC in the amount of $6,348,689.00. With change orders, the final construction cost totaled $6,937,971.14. The largest change order was the addition of adding the reconstruction of West 4th Street to the project.
At this time the work has been completed and inspected and is ready for Council to accept completion of the project and approve releasing the $346,898.56 currently being held in retainage.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This reconstruction work was funded out of Series 2021 and 2022 General Obligation Bonds.
