Summary:
The first year of the approved 5-Year Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) includes $1,375,000.00 for lift station rehabilitation. This year, our plan is to rehabilitate the lift station located on Durant Avenue. Freese and Nichols, Inc. has provided a proposal for engineering services which includes project management, design phase, bid phase and construction phase services. The proposed cost is $199,600.00.
This project will rehabilitate the existing Durant Lift Station by converting the existing dry-pit / wet-pit facility to a submersible lift station configuration. The existing wet-pit will be repurposed a the wet well, and the existing dry-pit will be removed from service and replaced with a new valve vault. Improvements will also include modifications to the existing wet well to accommodate the new submersible pumps, access hatches, piping, and associated appurtenances, along with replacement of the existing electrical equipment and control systems, site improvements, and other improvements necessary to provide a complete and operable lift station. The anticipate construction cost is expected to be around $1-Million Dollars.
Freese and Nichols, Inc. is on the city’s pre-qualified list.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funding for these services are available in the Series 2026 General Obligation Bond.
