Consideration of and action on approving the purchase of the services of Fuquay, Inc. to perform a storm sewer rehabilitation on N. Park Way Drive via Buy Board contract # 731-24.

Summary:
A sink hole was reported on N. Park Way Drive and, after investigation, it was discovered that a portion of a storm water corrugated metal pipe (CMP) was rusting through, with a large gapping hole, and the CMP was deteriorating. A total of 225 linear feet of 24-inch CMP needs to be removed and replaced. The Public Works Dept. does not have the manpower to handle such a replacement, therefore we contacted Fuquay, Inc. and had them come take a look at it.
Fuquay has provided us with a Buy Board quote, in the amount of $96,876.33 to perform this work. Although this is not a budgeted item, we do have available drainage funds in the Series 2021 General Obligation bond.
This rehabilitation is recommended to prevent the issue from becoming worse.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funding will be provided by Series 2021 General Obligation drainage funds.
