Title

Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 General Government Department of the General Fund for Transfers Grants Fund.

Body

Summary:

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact: From years 2012 to 2025 the Grants fund funded several City of Deer Park projects. These projects were funded through grant awards; however, some projects exceeded their grant apportionment. In order to fully fund these past projects, a transfer from the General Fund to the Grants Fund is necessary. The project overages are broken out below:

                     Gateway Monuments - $481.92

                     2015 Outdoor Adventures Project - $1,340.34

                     Wetland Nature Preserve - $115,666.21

North East Hike and Bike Trails $64,585.08

Hurricane Harvey Recovery of Gun Range and Storm Outfall - $101,192.15

A budget amendment in the amount of $283,265.70 is requested to appropriate the additional funds necessary to fully fund the project overages in the Grants Fund. This additional appropriation would be funded by a transfer of the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund to the Grants Fund.

Fiscal Budget Impact:

Increase the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 General Fund budget (010-105-45300, Operating Transfers) by the amount of $283,265.70 to fully fund the project overages in the Grants Fund using the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.

Recommended action

Approve the ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 General Government Department in the General Fund Budget for Transfers to the Grants Fund.
