Title
Proclamation for National Library Week 2026.
Body
Summary:
National Library Week will be celebrated April 19-25, 2026. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries (school, public, academic and special) participate. The theme for National Library Week (April 19-25, 2026), “Find Your Joy” illustrates the fact that libraries spark creativity, fuel imagination, and inspire lifelong learning, offering a space where individuals of all ages can find joy through exploration and discovery. Libraries also play a pivotal role in economic development by providing resources and support for job seekers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Rebecca Pool, Library Director, will be present at the April 21, 2026 Council Meeting to accept the 2026 National Library Week Proclamation.
