Summary:
The Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget for the Fire Marshal’s Office does not include overtime costs, however, the City’s needed response to the fire at the Intercontinental Terminals Company (ITC) Deer Park facility in March 2019 did result in overtime costs for the Fire Marshal’s Office resulting in a net variance of approximately $4,900.00. A budget amendment in the amount of $4,900.00 is requested to appropriate the additional funds necessary to fully fund the Fire Marshal’s Office for the fiscal year. This additional appropriation would be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $4,900.00 to the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget for the Fire Marshal’s Office (Account No. 010-313-41040, Salaries Overtime) to be funded by the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose.
Recommended action
Approve the ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget for the Fire Marshal’s Office.
