Summary:
In the past few years, there has been an increase in the amount of permit applications for “solar panels”. Currently there is no fee listed on our fee schedule for “solar panels”, therefore we have simply had them choose “miscellaneous electrical” on the permit application and charged them $30.
We would like to request that the fee schedule for electrical permits be revised to include a flat rate of $50 for solar panels.

Recommended action
Staff recommends adding a $50 solar panel fee to the City’s fee schedule.
