Presentation /Recognition of Officers William Chaffin, Travis Potter, and Miranda Ross with a “Life Saving Award.” On August 30, 2018, Officers Chaffin, Potter, and Ross responded to an address in Deer Park, in reference to Kenneth Lawton who was discovered not breathing. Upon arrival, Ross removed Lawton from the recliner he was sitting in, and began CPR. Chaffin who then arrived shortly after Ross, assisted by attaching his AED to Lawton and delivering a recommended shock. Potter who also arrived on scene then began CPR on Lawton once the shock was administered. Deer Park EMS arrived shortly thereafter and all three officers assisted with medical care. Personnel on scene were then able to regain a pulse on Lawton. He was then transported to the hospital where he made a full recovery.
