Summary:
At the December 16th, 2025 Deer Park City Council approved an agreement with Harris County Precinct #2 for Phase 2 of the Battleground Hike and Bike Trail. At the time of approval, the document was not correct in language and the County updated and provided the City of Deer Park with an updated version of the agreement. Attached to this item is the corrected version of the agreement for City Council Approval.
For reference, the City of Deer Park staff submitted a grant application to Harris County in the first half of 2025 for the potential continuation development and construction of a 2nd phase of hike and bike trail that the City is currently partnering with Harris County to construct. The 1st phase of the trail is proposed to begins at the corner of Battleground Hwy and “X” Street and extends south towards San Augustine and the down to “P” street. The 2nd phase of this trail will pick up at San Augustine Street and continue south along the drainage ditch towards the Deer Park Adult Sports Complex ending at Pasadena Blvd. The proposed project was submitted to Harris County for consideration. The City of Deer Park was notified of a conditional approval and agreement of the grant application.
