Summary:
This agreement entered into on February 1, 2024 between City of Deer Park and Houston Community Newspapers (HCN), is for 52 weeks with a rate totaling $19.00 per column inch for any of the 24 HCN newspapers, plus $7.00 per affidavit and $12.00 per tear sheet. This agreement begins February 1, 2024 and ends on February 1, 2025.
It is agreed that during the period of this agreement, that the HCN will be publishing Ordinances, notices or other matter required by law, in the exception of Tax Rate notices, which will be at the $840.90 + $5.00 per affidavit rate. HCN agrees to provide to the City of Deer Park affidavits and tear sheets within 10 days of the newspaper publication.
In addition to publication of advertisements in the agreed HCN newspaper, all the City of Deer Park's legal advertisements will have the option to run on the website marketplace.chron.com, serving the greater Houston area at NO extra cost to the City.
Statements will be rendered at the beginning of each month, and the advertiser agrees to pay HCN in full. Failure to pay the bill within thirty (30) days of the statement date may result in cancellation of the contract at the discretion of HCN.
HCN also agrees to provide the City of Deer Park a 15% discount off the open rate for employment advertisements to be published in any of our 24 newspapers that the city chooses. HCN agrees to mail affidavits and tear sheets within one week of newspaper publication.
The advertiser agrees to adhere to the requirements as outlined in this agreement.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This is a budgeted item. There is a small change in the agreement from the 23-24 contract with the cost increasing for affidavits and tear sheets but the cost to post online is eliminated. They are also providing a 15% discount on employment ads.
