Title
Consideration of and action on acceptance of a donation from OxyChem Deer Park PVC/KOH and OxyChem Deer Park VCM plants to the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department.

Body
Summary:
Officials from OxyChem Deer Park PVC/KOH and OxyChem Deer Park VCM would like to donate a total of $11,000 to the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of essential operating equipment and/or personal protective equipment.
The following items would be purchased with the donated funds:
Two (2) Motorola base radio units, two (2) portable handheld units and related accessories to be used during Channel Industries Mutual Aid (CIMA) industrial incidents. These radios would be placed in Tower 3 and Engine 11 which are identify as CIMA response vehicles. Two (2) "CIMA" radios were purchased with 2023 INVISTA Helping Heroes Grant funds in 2023 and are currently used by Unit #402 Deputy Chief Duty Vehicle and Unit #430 Safety Officer.
CIMA has a unique frequency and radio system, therefore, existing radio equipment is not capable and cannot be used during CIMA industrial incidents.
Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department is a contributing member of CIMA providing manpower and apparatus to events that occur in ETJ (extra territorial jurisdiction). Upon occasion, DPVFD are the first units on scene. During CIMA events, effective communication is an obstacle when coordinating various responding partners unless specific CIMA radios are utilized. The unique equipment will eliminate communication deficits by allowing more first responders to quickly, securely and safely communicate and receive task assignments.
Twelve (12) MAJ-Gore Particulate Hoods to replace existing hoods that have reached their life expectancy. This hood provides 99.99% particulate-blocking efficiency while providing comfort, reliability and protection against harmful contaminants.
