Summary
The Police Department is seeking another year of an inter-local agreement with the Deer Park ISD to fund eight (8) School Resource Officers, one (1) School Resource Officer Supervising Sergeant and 18 Crossing Guard locations.
Discussion of the Deer Park Police Department seeking to continue its partnership and Inter-Local Agreement with DPISD for the 2023/2024 school year to provide eight (8) School Resource Officers (SROs), one (1) School Resource Officer Supervising Sergeant, and Crossing Guard services for 18 DPISD - Crossing Guard locations within the city limits of Deer Park for DPISD students. The overall anticipated cost to be shared is $1,586,114.53.
This Agreement has been expanded with the addition of two (2) SROs in January 2023, and two (2) more RSOs and a SRO Sergeant to be added August 1, 2023.
Note: The attached spread sheet shows the complete breakdown of cost percentages for the City of Deer Park and DPISD. This includes a one-time equipment fee for four (4) laptop computers for newly created SRO positions. Additional days have also been added to the contract at DPISDs request to have summer school coverage. Basic equipment and training has remained the same. The Crossing Guard rate has increased from $14/hr. to $16/hr.

Grand total: $1,586,114.53
