Consideration of and action on purchasing the services of Branch Construction, via TIPS contract number 23010401, for the Concrete Ditch Improvements Between E San Augustine and East P Street (Ditch ID #B112-04-00).

Summary:
Approximately 192-linear feet of concrete slope paving on the drainage ditch located between E. San Augustine and East P Street, has failed. Failure to remedy the situation will result in more of the slope paving being undermined and causing a larger, more expensive problem. City staff, including our in-house engineering department, have met with Branch Construction to discuss the best, most economical, options.
The existing concrete slope pavement is original to the ditch, and therefor is only 4-inches thick with smaller rebar as well as an outdated subgrade. Branch Construction, through their TIPS Contract #23010401, has provided a proposal for $198,982.00 to make the improvements. The improvements include going back 5-inch-thick concrete with #4 rebar. The project is expected to take less than 1-month, weather permitting.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funding for this work will be out of the 2021 General Obligation Bonds for Drainage Improvements.

Approve the purchase of services of Branch Construction, via TIPS contract number 23010401, for the Concrete Ditch Improvements between E. San Augustine and East P Street (Ditch ID #B112-04-00) for the proposed amount of $198,982.00.
