Summary:
The Public Works Department requested proposals for a Landscape and Mowing Maintenance Services contract. The agreement covers one-year maintenance period for maintaining both the landscaping and mowing services for the following areas:
• Lift Station #32 - located at the intersection of East Blvd. @ E. 13th Street.
• Lift Station #22 - located at 3901 East Blvd. (between Pasadena Blvd. and Aaron Street).
• Lift Station #17- located at 3433 Center Street (in front of CVS Pharmacy)
• Surface Water Treatment Plant
• Coy Street Well Site
• P Street Well Site
• Pasadena Blvd. Well Site
• Avon Elevated Storage Tank property
Services includes regular mowing, edging, weed eating, and maintaining the existing landscaping. Dead or dying plants and/or shrubs will be removed and replaced as needed.
We received 10 proposals at the July 24, 2025 deadline. A committee consisting of the Water Plant Supervisor, Collections and Distribution Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor, Public Works Operations Administrator, as well the Office Manager, reviewed and scored all submittals. (Score sheet is attached).
At this time, it is recommended that City Council award this contract to Murphy’s Home Services. The contracted amount will be $118,833.91.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
$120,000.00 was budgeted in account 400-500-42900 to cover these services and is available for this purpose.
Recommended action
Award the service agreement to Murphy’s Home Services for Public Works landscape and mowing maintenance services.
