Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget for the Golf Course Lease Fund to repair the awning at Battleground Golf Course.

Summary:
At the Battleground Golf Course during normal operations, a school bus from Pasadena ISD transporting their golf team to practice attempted to drive under the awning on the east side of the Club House. The driver hit the awning, resulting in damages. After assessment, the awning will require repairs.
Staff received a quote from Generosity Services, Inc in the amount of $34,860.01 that covers mobilization, labor and equipment to make the necessary repairs.
Being that this was an unexpected event, a budget amendment in the amount of $38,000.00 is requested to cover the quoted cost and any other additional needs to bring the awning and driveway back to prior condition. The amendment would be funded by a transfer to the Golf Course Lease Fund of $38,000.00 from the unassigned fund balance of the General Fund, which is available for this purpose. It is expected for Pasadena ISD or their insurance carrier to reimburse the City for these costs.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $38,000.00 to the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget for the Golf Course Lease Fund (084-450-44040, Buildings) to be funded by a transfer from General Fund’s (010-105-45300, Operating Transfers/084-000-36400, Transfers from Other Funds) unassigned fund balance, which is available for this purpose.
