Title
Consideration of and action on rehabilitating the bar screen at the Wastewater Treatment Plant using Huber Technology as a sole source vendor for the project at a quoted cost of $145,183.22.
Body
Summary:
A Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) bar screen is a preliminary filtration system, typically the first step in the treatment process. It acts as a protective barrier to protect downstream pumps and equipment from damage and clogging. The WWTP has $140,000 budgeted to rehabilitate the bar screen at the plant. The bar screen needs to be reworked every 5-years to keep it functioning correctly.
Huber Technology is a sole source vendor for WWTP bar screens in our area. They have provided a quote of $145,183.22 to perform the rehabilitation work required. Although this is a little over budget, there are sufficient funds in the WWTP budget to cover this overage.
The City Attorney has reviewed and approved he sole source status of the vendor.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This project will be funded out of the WWTP operational budget account (400-502-49040).
Recommended action
Approve rehabilitating the bar screen at the Wastewater Treatment Plant by using Huber Technology as a sole source vendor for the rehab work at a quoted price of $145,183.22.
