Title
Presentation of the 5-Year Strategic Technology Master Plan update.
Body
Summary:
In FY 2024-2025, the City Council approved a contract with SCIENS Consulting to update the City’s 5-Year Strategic Technology Master Plan (STMP). The project officially launched in June, with SCIENS spending five days onsite in Deer Park. During this initial phase, they conducted meetings with all City departments to gather feedback on operational technology needs. This was followed by an in-depth review of IT operations with City IT staff.
From March through September, IT staff collaborated with SCIENS to develop the updated STMP. The proposed plan, which outlines key technology initiatives, priorities, and funding estimates over a five-year period, is being presented to Council during this workshop.
SCIEN Consulting will join the meeting to present the final draft of the updated plan.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
There is no immediate budgetary impact. The STMP outlines projected technology projects and associated costs by fiscal year. Each year, the City will review the plan as part of the annual budget process to determine project prioritization based on available funding and strategic needs.
