Summary:
Over the past several years, the City has maintained a proactive fleet replacement program by replacing one garbage truck annually. This current year, $295,800.00 is budgeted to replace Unit 708.
Unit 708 is a 2017 rear-loading garbage truck and is currently the oldest vehicle in the City’s sanitation fleet. The truck operates continuously throughout the day, five days per week, and is beginning to show significant wear and tear associated with heavy daily use.
This purchase is being made through Houston Freightliner’s HGACBuy contract #HT07-26 in the amount of $267,843.12.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Funds were budgeted for this purchase in the Asset Replacement Fund account 091-402-4907.
