Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend Section 74-6 - Facility Rentals of Schedule B of the Code of Ordinance related to Parks and Recreation Department fees for the Jimmy Burke Activity Center.

Summary:
The City of Deer Park Parks and Recreation Department has been working with the Public Information Office evaluating the fees that have been implemented at the new Jimmy Burke Activity Center. The Department is recommending the following adjustments to help larger events with pricing, booking and payments.
1. Reservations that book the entire building for multiple days will be charged half price for setup time in advance of the event.
2. Reservations that book the entire building for multiple days may opt to submit payment through the following payment plan:
• 50% payment due at time of booking
• 25% payment due 6 months prior to the event
• Remaining 25% due 3 months prior to the event
These changes will be less of a burden on the renter and help the city secure larger, multi-day events. In addition to these changes, other minor changes are being added to the ordinance that were previously omitted such as add-on rentals (stage, podium, portable bar and A/V), and deposits.
