Summary:
Channel G105-04-01 is the drainage easement on W. 13th next to new Fire Station 1 that flows to Georgia along the Battleground Golf Course ponds. The drainage ditch has become overgrown and drainage has been impeded due to vegetation and grading issues. The scope of work includes bank stabilization, ditch regrading, outfall repair and replacement, erosion control and maintenance access.
Cobb Fendley was hired as the design engineer. Their cost estimate for construction was $875,229.00.
The project was publicly advertised for bids. We received six (6) bids at the May 6th bid opening. Cobb Fendley has reviewed all bids, as well as the Statements of Qualifications for each contractor. After review, Cobb Fendley is recommending the lowest bidder, which is Panther Construction, LLC. Their total bid price, including additional work items is $618,644.91.

Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
This project will be funded out of the 2022 General Obligation Funds (Fund 310).
Recommended action
Award the project to Panther Construction, LLC in the amount of $618,644.91.
