Consideration of and action on an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for the Rehabilitation of the 13th Street Lift Station.

Summary:
The lift station located on 13th Street is in need of rehabilitation. The interior walls are deteriorating and it has begun to emanate odors. The work to rehabilitate the lift station will include bypass pumping, cleaning and debris removal from inside the wet well, grouting of structural damage, and lining the surface of the wet well with an epoxy lining system.
Staff has received a quote from Fuquay, Inc. through Buyboard purchasing cooperative in the amount of $691,508.01. Funding for the project will consist of bond proceeds from fund 508 in the amount of $51,132.39 and $389,160.00 from fund 509. The remaining balance will be funded by the Water & Sewer Fund. Staff is requesting a budget amendment for the FY 23-24 Water and Sewer Fund budget in the amount of $260,000.00 to fully fund the lift station rehabilitation.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Add $260,000.00 to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Water & Sewer Fund Budget for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (Account No. 400-502-49030, Improvements Other than Buildings) to be funded from the prior year revenue (fund reserves) in the Water & Sewer Fund, which is available for this purpose.
