Consideration of and action on ratifying the purchase of services from Hydromax USA, via TIPS contract #240501, to perform water valve and hydrant maintenance and repair work as well as gather GPS data on the city asset.

Summary:
The Public Works department budgeted funds to hire a company to perform a comprehensive exercising of all water valves and fire hydrants throughout the city. This also includes any minor maintenance or repairs that may need if something is discovered during the process. Another, major part, of the proposal was to gather GPS locations and attribute data at each valve and hydrant location, which could then be uploaded to our new asset management program.
Due to the fact staff is currently working with the asset management software firm, providing this GPS data in a timely manner is very beneficial. Therefore, staff requested that the City Manager approve the agreement so that work could get started, with the intent of having City Council ratify the agreement.
The proposal is agreement is for $125,155.00 and the purchase is being made via the Hydromax TIPS contract #240501.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
The budget for this project is $126,000.00 which is budgeted in account 400-501-44150.
