Summary:
The annual purchase of bunker gear for replacement of existing members as well as new members. The total cost exceeds $50,000 therefore the Fire Control Board needs to make a recommendation to City Council to make the purchase from Metro Fire via BuyBoard # contract 798-26. The total for 14 sets of gear is $ 53,850.00.
The purchase of the bunker gear was delayed due to the roll out of new NFPA changes in bunker gear construction and manufactures trying to determine how they would meet the new standard.
Fiscal/Budgetary Impact:
Fiscal year 2025-26 approved budgeted expenditure.
Recommended action
Authorize the recommendation to City Council to approve the purchase of 14 sets of bunker gear via BuyBoard contract #798-26 in the amount of $53,850.00.
